947 Ride Joburg is the biggest annual celebration of cycling in South Africa through the city of Joburg. Between 15 000 and 30 000 cyclists take part in this event each year. In 2020 we assisted this well-established brand with a new corporate identity, website design and a digital & social media marketing strategy. What makes Joburg, Joburg and how do we portray this through the website and other digital channels? We looked at elements like iconic landmarks, culture, political history and influence. This brand language and personality were incorporated into each aspect of this site. We considered what the goals are for this brand and how do we guide our visitor with a user-friendly site to take the actions we want them to take or help them obtain the information they came for int he fastest route? The end result is still in progress and we will be continuing to work on this property in 2021.
